IDHA End of Year High Point Awards Program

All points must be submitted by January 15th.
All participants (both adult & youth) in this program must be IDHA members in good standing!
* Ridden Horses must be 3 years or older as of January 1st of the competing year to compete under saddle.

• Ambassador – This is a breed ambassador award given to that remarkable Drum Horse that is frequently out in the public, educating people about the Drum Horse breed. Examples can be anything from breed demonstrations, parades, school visits, publications in newspapers/magazines, movies, videos.

• Halter – Only Halter (Conformation) classes will count for this award. Color, turnout, suitability, or any other in-hand classes do not qualify.

• Versatility (over 3) – This will be for the most well-rounded, versatile Drum Horse over 3. All points from all disciplines, including halter classes, count.

• Junior Versatility (under 3)- For Drum Horses age 3 years and under as of January 1st of the competing year. All points from any kind of in-hand class will count. No ridden classes apply to this award.

• English Performance – Dressage Suitability, English Pleasure, Hunter/Jumper classes, or any other English-style riding class counts toward this award.

• Western Performance – All Western classes – Trail, Western Pleasure, Barrel Racing at
Breed/Open shows or any other event hosting Western competition (i.e. Barrel Racing, Gymkhana, Competitive Trail).

• Dressage – Classical and Western Dressage tests only. Dressage suitability classes do not count toward this award.

• Harness – Driving classes at Breed/Open Shows, Combined Driving, Derby. Ground driving/long reining and working horse classes count.

• Foundation Drum Horse – Only open to IDHA registered Foundation Drum Horses whose Gypsy percentage is between 1-6.24% or above 50%. English, Western, Driving, Dressage, Harness, and Halter classes all count toward this award.

• Youth Handler – Open to Youth under the age of 18 years of age on January 1st of the competing year. All points from all disciplines count towards the final total.
